Robert Carter, R&B/Soul singer, songwriter and producer was born on September 8 in Nashville, Tennessee. Robert was raised in Indianapolis, IN where he began his love affair with music in a little Gospel church. His mother fondly recounted him “jamming” in her womb during the countless hours of choir rehearsals and church services.
It was in 1997 when Robert took the keyboard his mother purchased for him and joined the United States Air Force. For the first few years of his military career, he spent his days working as a heavy equipment operator and his nights honing his musical craft. In 2002, he auditioned and selected to tour with the Air Force’s premier entertainment group "Tops in Blue." He spent that year learning what it meant to truly connect with an audience, while performing for thousands of military troops and families in 23 different countries.
Over the years, Robert has used his talent to engage audiences worldwide bringing smiles, laughs, and even tears. He has performed on stages big and small, on televised halftime shows for sporting events, and even as an opening act in concerts for well-known artists like Tony Terry, Howard Hewitt, Xzibit, and Alabama. Most notably, while stationed at JBSA-Lackland AFB in San Antonio TX, Robert was named the Air Force Entertainer of the Year for 2015 and also nominated for the Bob Hope Spirit of Hope Award. Robert will continue to bless all he encounters with his music as he serves in the Air Force; after which, he will begin a new journey as a full-time music industry professional.
